/Bädē/ is a major series of work I created during my tenure at Goddard College. These works are a manifestation of the discoveries that stemmed from my experiments with alternative printmaking and my reflections on difference aesthetics. The title of the series is represented with the phonetic spelling of the term, which immediately addresses a disconnection from the original definition and introduces my redefinition of bodily aesthetics. The figures in my work create their own definition of bodily aesthetics, and their creation is as dependent on the will of the process as it is on my decisions as the artist. These bodies speak to difference aesthetics because they present themselves though a new lens; they challenge what constitutes a body.
