Artist's Statement:
Through printmaking and various mixed media techniques, the aim of my work is to explore the nature of interaction, both within and without. My most recent works examine my own experience through time and evolution. This work straddles the line between emotion and reaction, with an awareness of where they intersect.
I present bodies in pieces and distortions, to challenge how we perceive bodies as well as how we translate bodies into objects. It is through this stripping down of identifiers and context that my viewers are encouraged to face the object in front of them. My works seek to expand the role of the figure through these explorations, as well as examine my own bodily presence in the process. This attention to presence manifests in meditative works that challenge not only my physical presence, but also my mental presence. Through expressive mark making and texture, these pieces translate into intimate objects that invite the viewer to come close and become present with the work.

I am a process artist in constant collaboration with chance and intuition. I seek to work with my materials in symbiosis, allowing them to speak and create life of their own.
