Print Meditations
These works are the result of inquiries into my own knowing by making and growth through reconnection with imagination. This is a body of work in infinite progress, and serves as a dialogue between myself and my process. It is through these works that I seek to disassociate myself from the outcome oriented way of working that serve me in my other art making endeavors. It is an extension of my work with alternative printmaking; it is another way that I break away from the limitations I set on myself as an artist. I view these works as exercise in poiesis, which Stephen Levine defines as knowing by making. I related this idea directly to Petra Kuppers idea of embodied labors of attention, and I believe that both of these ways of thinking are essential for my artistic growth.
